Hi,

I've got a laptop which had a hard drive and W7 Ultimate installed on it.

I've taken the Hard drive out and replaced it with an SSD and have gone to re-install Windows 7 on it.

I've tried with a USB installation or with a Disk and everytime it gets to the Starting Windows stage, then a white cursor appears before the machine restarts and proceeds to try and boot off the Disk/USB again.

Any idea's?

It is possible the new SSD is not listed in the boot from list in BIOS. Did you check that already?

Wait, just to be clear,

When does this happen?
After booting from Installation Media (USB Drive or DVD)
OR
After installting Windows and booting from SSD?

How are you setting the BIOS to boot from the install media? And what is the BIOS boot order set to? If you are manually setting your install media to be first in the boot order, at some point you have to set it back so the hard drive is listed first. Other wise you endlessly reboot from your install media. Windows will reboot the PC during the install, and then continues the install from the hard drive. Yours may be rebooting too early, hard to tell from what you posted. If so, my suggestion likely won't help.
