Trying to install Windows 7 on 2x Samsung 850 Evo's in Raid or Array.

I've been dealing with this for hours. I've looked all across the internet and I have yet to fix my issue.

SPECS/ISSUES
MSI GT80 Titan Laptop
Windows 7

I just bought/installed two Samsung SSD 850 Evo M.2s
I already have a 1TB HHD with all my stuff and OS on it (windows 7)-Not Samsung

Followed these instructions perfectly in Video directly from MSI

I have already Raid configured my two new SSD's into a Stripped Array and booted SATA etc
The system on boot does not install/try to install an OS. It acts like there should be an OS and fails the Windows screen load(freezes for a sec on the colors) then brings me to .5 sec blue screen that I cant even read its so fast, then it starts the "start windows normally screen/or restore previous version", neither of which work cuz it just fails over again etc. Also After I try and Start after I set it up it goes to "Checking Media Presence" then rolls me back to BIOS automatically..

Why can't/wont it let me install my OS. Yes I have the boot Disc in the cd drive also. It is the first OPTION on boot.
Any help leading to this will be appreciated. I'm beginning to think I'm ruining my computer restarting it so much trying to figure it out.

I've tinkered more, and decided to test out just a normal array of the SSD's to non-raid and when I boot it just ignores trying to install on the new SSDS and loads up the OS from my HDD. Even more frustrating. Apparantly when the two SSDS are Stripped and Together they are DYNAMIC and they can't have a OS installed onto them?! Now googling more issues ~~~Still clueless

Am I missing something small or is there a larger problem here?

Hi and welcome to SevenForums,
Go into bios and disable fast/ quick startup
Should be all that is needed
This is the only raid I know of

Done that sadly, Also just did it again and alas no work.

Hi,
Okay well most of this might be caused by the os type being uefi only
Or secure boot features in CSM options.
Review them and post some pictures of the options you do have in boot and security/ CSM

I only have UEFI/LEGACY/ UEFI W CSM just like in the video tutorial. I can boot my HDD with my OS on either.

Been doing more work on this today...I was able to Enter Raid-Start Windows in LEGACY option with Windows on CD/DVD

I was so happy until I saw these windows pop up during the install..when you fix a problem another rises..I have IRST-And I have the latest downloaded-the RAID one but I dont see any RAID controller?>?

You're welcome to post a disk management screen shot of the hdd's partitions
Personally I'd just clone or do a system image of just the os partition and restore it to one of the ssd's.
Then deal with the raid stuff.

My 1TB HD with OS+All my stuff
My 2x 850's Raid stripped
Cdrom with Boot disc
USB with ISO of boot disc

There you go just system image disk 1 then restore it to disk 0
Remove disk 1 and boot to disk 0
If it works format disk 1

Ok but I cant create the system image on disk 1, I'd have to save it to disk 0, you can't restore a disk where the back up is saved correct? I have an external I could save it to but will the computer recongnize it on the external when I try to restore to the SSDS?

Is Disk 1 your 2 ssd raid setup ? and it`s normal to showup as Dynamic, because it`s now a single volume ?

And what`s your purpose for raid with ssd`s ?

Disk 0 is ssd array. Purpose? To raid them.

Why is Disk 1 Dynamic then.

Yes those are two 850s for disk 0. Because raid is faster and i want two ssds stripped to be as fast as possible

I knew I couldnt install this image to the disk 0 after putting it on external. Any Ideas?

I would guess you'd need to reestablish the raid after an install not try to salvage an existing raid

You also can not restore C drive while using c drive
Remove all internal drive except for the m.2's and the external with the image
Boot to the WinPE recovery cd/ flash drive created before or after creating the system image.

Im actually cloneing my cdrive (1tb one) to my ssd raid right now with Macrium. Its almost done and Ill test it ou to see if everything works.

Yeah try to run it in raid after clone-that failed.

Ran it in normal ahci-loaded from my 1tb slow drive pretty sure

Will delete the raid, make it simple and re-clone to see if it boots from it

That is the way you should do it a raid should be established after an install not before
