Trying to install Windows 7 on a Dell laptop

Hello everyone, this is my first post here.

I would like to know how to properly install Windows 7 on my Dell Inspiron 3583 laptop.

Do I need to make a custom installer for it?
My BIOS warns that Win8 and Win7 are uninstallable on the computer, so I think I would need to make a custom installer for it. I just wonder, how would I do so?

System Specs

CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM) i3-6145 CPU @ 2.10GHz 2.30GHz

RAM: 8.00 GB (7.86 GB usable)

iGPU: Intel Integrated Graphics 620 UHD "Whiskey Lake"

Storage: HDD: 1TB (currently running Kubuntu, has space for another OS)
SSD: 128gb (currently running Win10)

Am I out of luck?

Welcome to the forum. First job goto dells site put in your tag number and see what drivers there are for 7 if they don't have some drivers you may struggle

Are you sure it is a i3-6145 cpu?
6xxx normally is a 6th gen (skylake) and 6145 is for a Xeon.

A Whiskey Lake would be i3-8145u cpu (8th gen).

Please give us the model and the ID of the laptop.

It may be possible to install Win 7 on your laptop but we need ALL the hardware specs.

The only downloadable drivers listed for it are for Windows 10 64-bit.
These are the primary drivers:
Intel chipset
Intel UHD Graphics 620
Realtek ALC3204 high definition audio
Realtek 10/100 Mbps ethernet
Intel 9462/9560 or Qualcomm QCA9377/9565/61x4A wireless

According to its specifications section, it comes with an 8th generation Intel Core i3/i5/i7 processor.
I suspect you made a typo and that yours actually came with an Intel Core i3-8145U processor.

As already requested, we need the exact 7-character service tag number on yours so we can verify its description and what hardware came in it.
