I have had this problem for nearly a year now. I currently have about five files on my desktop that when ever I try to remove I receive the error;

-----
Item Not Found

Could not find this item

This is no longer located in C:\Users\[My User Name]\Desktop. Verify the items location then try again.
-----

I have already tried to restart my computer (several times over the past year..) and I have just grown to ignore it. Recently I have been trying to clean it up and it is causing problems. I can not even rename the files (don't know if that helps anyone understand the problem).

If anyone can help, thank you.

You might want to try to reboot, or refresh the desktop (F5).
Or, you can use Unlocker.

I apologize if this seems a bit off but the first thing I tried were simple things such as F5 and a reboot. I thought I pointed this out already.

Thank you for trying though, have a great day.
