No, although there are many that make this claim. Most do little, some actually harm performance.

A good place to start would be to show your system specs. At present all we know it is some computer running Windows 7.

Software such as "Advanced System Care" and "Tune Up Utilities" will not significantly improve performance. Advanced System Care in particular has a poor reputation with most experienced members of this forum.

How much ram do you have? You need 2 gb or more.

Both of these "programs" can, have and will continue to be the source of many more problems than they "fix". You will be hard pressed to find ANY senior poster here that recommends either one.

You are absolutely right. Those programs are worse than the plague.

Advanced System Care is one of the best ways to turn a completely useful computer into a door stop. Any thing from IObits is a scarey thing.

I used to work for a company that offered remote support. I did a lot of pc tune-ps for them on their customer's machines and per our procedure we used tune up utilities so among the that's what I would choose since I have used however I would not use the registry cleaner component. I'm not sure that it would be worth buying though. The important thing is to have enough ram. You never answered my question on how much you have. If you don't have at least 2 gb that would be the best use of your money IMO.

I do not use or recommend any third party optimization programs. I know that these one click software packages are very appealing to the inexperienced but they are marginally useful at best and harmful at worst. Advanced System Care is in the latter category. These programs claim that they are suitable for experts but few will touch them.
