I'm having some problems with my current wireless drivers and i wanted to try another version, but Windows 7 keeps installing the one it finds on it's own. when i try to update it, it says that it already installed the most suitable driver.

Anyway to get around this?

i've seen the thread about downloading from windows update, etc...but i tried that and it didn't work. it's like the driver is already on my computer (windows 7 did detect it without windows update during a clean installation).

Hi

Go to Control Panel - All Control Panel items - System - click Advanced System Settings (left hand side) - click "device Installation settings" button and you can turn it off in there.
