UAC - is there a safe list?

Hello all..

as a long long time user of XP, I found the move to win 7 a bit traumatic...but after a few months on same, I'm okay with it.

that said, I've not been able to determine if there is a way I can add an app (ie the .exe file) to a list that is always going to be judged "safe" to use and by doing so, bypass the UAC controls?

I'd like to keep same on, but the constant YES that I have to do when I use a hundred apps a day is somewhat tiresome....

is there a way, perhaps for this - other than the dang right/click "run as admin" way that is?

I have just discovered that it is not possible on Windows 7 by default,
However someone was so kind and wrote a software for doing it, scroll down to 'UAC trust shortcut' and select your 64bit download:
ITknowledge24 - Downloads

By default, no there is not a way. reason being, if you gave all of these apps free reign approval, wouldn't they just be able to wreak havoc any time they wanted.

Unless you increased the standard UAC level, you shouldn't have 100 programs that all require admin level access. I'd say 98 out of 100 of my installed programs DO NOT get a UAC prompt. The only things I run which regularly do are Acronis True Image and Malwarebytes. What software are you running on a daily basis?

Hello Jim, and welcome to Seven Forums.

There's not really a safe list that you could create, but you could use the tutorial below to create elevated shortcuts of apps so that they can run elevated without getting a UAC prompt.
