My wife's computer with 7600 RTM 64-bit installed is experiencing about daily BSOD errors. She had similar problems under XP 32-bit as well and I tried replacing various components and drivers to see if I could resolve the problem. Nothing seemed to help. The problem might be resolved for a while, but eventually always came back regardless of what I tried to do.

Restarting the computer Windows presents a "recovered from serious error" dialog and displays an error message. The message we typically get is similar to:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1

Additional information about the problem:

Attached is the minidump referenced in the error contained in a ZIP file.

Not being a Windows internals/debugging guy I would appreciate any thoughts you can offer to help isolate the problem component so she can have a stable computer.

I get this same message when I shutdown my computer as well. I found out that the reason was an outdated display driver. Once I updated the driver I stopped getting the blue screen.

Good thought lcollier93... I am already using the 190.38 driver from NVIDIA's web site. Might be useful to do a remove, clean up with drivercleaner.net and re-install.

OK this is an interesting fix. I noted in another person's thread about their BSOD issues they changed the "Min Processor State" value in the Power Options. Well I changed my Min Processor State on this machine to 100%. This matches the Max Processor State value. Note that in BIOS I also have EIST disabled.

Voila... no BSODs since doing that a week ago. Will have to monitor for another week or two before stating this was the fix, but it seems to have helped.
