Solved Unable to connect to internet on old laptop.

Hello, there. I'm on my old laptop I recently got running again, I just factory resetted it because the performance was extremely slow before hand. However, the internet was working on it then. For some reason, I am able to connect to it now, but it still displays the internet explorer cannot display the webpage page. I've tried the resetting ip, re-enabling the adapters, uninstalling the driver, and even updating the driver. I tried unchecking the IPv6 option on the Network tab, and none of these has worked thus far.

This shows that you are reaching your isp and getting a lease, the gateway is showing properly. Try setting the ipv4 dns servers to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1

I do this by going to the networking tab > alternate configuration > set ipv4 dns right? That's the only thing?

I've tried this option as well. It's showing connectivity still, but no connection to any sites. I diagnose connection, but it says it's fine.

Have you scanned the machine for virus and malware, something could be redirecting you, try another browser, check the processes in task manager to see if something strange is running

Forgot to mention that my usb ports are either broken or really loose because I cannot fit any usb in them it falls right out. So I can't install anything using a usb flash drive. I supposed I could try a sfc scannow command. But I literally just did a factory reset on the machine. I still don't understand how it could not work. It was working just fine, the internet, before I did the factory reset.

Yea still nothing happening, tried sfc scannow and no violations... Don't get what's happening.

The adapter appears to be working perfectly. It is getting a lease and showing the gateway.

Yes it is but it still won't browse or connect at all still, even if it is showing internet access. I even uninstalled the antivirus.

No everything is fine on that end, no errors. I'm resetting the pc again and seeing if that does anything.

I fixed it. I suppose it just needed another factory reset to resolve it. Thanks for the additional assistance.
