Hi,

I have a Toshiba laptop which I boot with the help of a USB HDD having windows 7 64 bit. Now, when i try to hibernate the system, I am not able to hibernate it. I have the option of hibernate available along with the Sleep, Restart, Log off, Shut down but when I choose Hibernate option it does not hibernate but it goes probably to sleep. In the power configuration, I have hybrid sleep as off. I am not able to figure out how to make it happen and fix this? Can you guys please help me. Let me know if you need more information.

Toshiba Satellite C600 P4011. RAM upgraded to 4 GB.

Regards,

I don't think hibernation is possible when booting from an external drive. In any event if this were possible it would be asking for trouble.

Microsoft has never supported installing any version of Windows (except Windows 8 enterprise edition) on an external drive. You are in uncharted territory and must accept that some things won't work properly or at all.
