Solved unable to play video files

i am so frustrated right now that I am about to throw my computer once again I am getting the error message unable to find playable file and none of my video preview thumbnails are working and don't tell me to go in and edit the registry because I already tried it and it didn't work and nobody better wait 3 and 4 days to try and help me its unacceptable I want to be helped tonight or tomorrow because I want my issue fixed its important thank you

I would offer that if anything is unacceptable it would be your manner of phrasing and could leave you open to receiving no help whatsoever.

i am sorry the way I phrased it I am frustrated because I should not be having these types of problems and also now my thumbnails on videos are also not working correctly and when I try editing the registry it does no good I still get the same error what is the best solution so I can get my stuff working properly again thanks for your help

Have you tried going back to a system restore point to before you messed with the registry?

Have you made any Recovery Disks?

I deleted all my restore points just to clear up space and that wouldn't have done me any good anyways because I have also been having some issues with my user account I had to go in and create a new user account under a fake name with moving all of my stuff to it and then deleting the folder with my name and then re-creating a new user account with my name and then do the same thing as before I created the fake one what ese should I do I also even posted to the Microsoft community forums to see if I could get help there

I have them for my computer specifically, but I do not want to lose all of my stuff as I don't have enough room to store it somewhere else and plus it takes over an hour and a half to re-do the whole thing and longer when getting updates and setting everything else up

I strongly suggest that you buy an external hard drive to backup your personal stuff and take the machine back to factory condition.

Without knowing what you have done to the registry and these user accounts I would be difficult to offer any further advice other than that.

I found a place called surdoc that gives you 100GB free storage waiting for it to back up all my videos all my music and pictures are on onedrive and my documaents are on a flash drive so I will go with doing that when surdoc is done

i had a feeling surdoc was going to take forever to back up things the only things that would have been a problem was all my downloaded videos off the internet, i did end up salvaging the videos so they could fit on my flash drives, but i had to delete most of my videos and some of my videos are on Google Drive and my music, pictures, and documents were on onedrive so after moving everything and deleting it i used my recovery disks and took it back to factory defaults and all went well and it took forever to install updates i shut down my machine when i had 11 updates to go because i was tired and those 11 failed and when i turned it on the next morning i had 19 updates still to install all succeeded and now i am finished with updates and it took forever to do all of this considering my charger all of a sudden decided to quit working yesterday morning and i had to buy a universal one and last night was also the first time in about a week my computer has worked properly and i still have to go re-download all my internet videos

Never interrupt Windows Downloads and Installation or you will find yourself in a world of shit.

Make sure that the charger that you bought is of equal comparison to the old charger you had.

I was able to install them the next morning and they went just fine and my new charger is universal and its the brand rocketfish and then after I was able to replace the charger and then upgrade to Windows 7 Professional as I purchased a product key off of Amazon
