I have Win7-64 Home Premium installed on Kingston SSD with all updates applied. When I originally installed Win7 6 mos. ago I turned off the Gadget Platform with no trouble. Now I am unable to turn it back on. When I try I get the message "An error occurred. Not all features were successfully changed."
After doing an extensive Google search it is clear this is a continuing problem MS has yet to resolve. I have tried all of the posted fixes (re-registering DLL's, removing the Zones registry hive, running SFC /Scannow, etc.) with no benefit.
Is there really no hope for fixing this? Maybe a fix is in SP1?
