Unidentified Network, Clean Win7 install, tried several NICs

I think I may have found a cause to the problem.
As I stated earlier, other computers on the same network are working so I tried plugging in the cable to a laptop and the same problem occured. So I tried taking the MAC-adress from the wireless connection on the laptop and plugging it in to the "faulty" computer and hey presto, it worked.
On the phone with my ISP to find out more about the problem right now actually.

FYI there seems to be a problem that memory causes with the unidentified network issue.

I've been working on a similar issue myself. Only difference is the system was connected just fine with the 2gb dual channel kit. When I replaced it with a 4gb kit it started the unidentified network problems. I am waiting on a reply from the memory manufactuer and on Monday I will be contacting MS since I am within 90 days of purchase of my Win 7.

Just to reiterate. With the 2GB DC kit in the network identifies properly. If I put in the 4GB DC kit by itself or with the 2GB DC kit still in then it comes up unidentified network.
