I can't say if you should remove it or not. But to uninstall any windows update you go to Control Panel - Windows Update. Then View Update History, then Installed Updates (at the top). From there you can uninstall any update by right click - Uninstall.

Uninstall KB947821 not obvious !

Thank you Tookeri for your post.
But, the common method to uninstall a Windows update does not work for KB947821.

There are two ways to get a list of the installed updates using the Configuration Panel.

One is the history of the updates : KB947821 appears in that list but you can't uninstall any update in this list.
The other list is the list of the installed updates which allows you to uninstall any update appearing in the list, but KB947821 does not appear in that second list (I think so, I've checked several times)

Sorry for any translation issue, my Windows version speaks French....

Thank you for any help.
I woud only like to know....

If you recently installed it, it should be easy to find in the Installed Updates list. Sort on the column "Installed on" so it sorts on latest dates, then look in section "Microsoft Windows".

If you still don't find it you can do a search at the top right corner. But you have to include KB and not only the number of the update, example KB947821 (only the numbers without KB won't find anything, don't know why)

If you still don't find it I guess this update is somehow different from other updates. I don't know, I was only trying to explain in general how to uninstall a windows update.

You can't uninstall that "System Readiness Update Tool"...its a checker tool and does only create a Temp folder to extract its files then delete it when done. But you can safely delete the installer.

As NoN says, the KB947821 CheckSUR tool is purely that - a tool.
It doesn't actually install anything - merely attempts to repair problems with windows Updates - so there's nothing to uninstall.

I'd keep the tool around for a couple of weeks/months - but no longer, since it gets updated every three months or so.
