Solved Uninstalled Linux OS dual boot with Windows 7 now boot issue.

Agree if the Sata III port is port 0 - which is rarely the case. And a primary partition that is not active can preced Win7 - no harm done.

I already explained why its best if the minor adjustment can be made to avoid having a Primary partition preceding the OS, lest the System boot files can be derailed during repairs or reinstall to the first Primary partition. We have been dealing with this issue here for years so if you've somehow missed it then please at least don't contradict help I've given thousands of times after observing countless misplaced System partitions.

If you are unable to make OS disk Disk0 then be aware of this possibility and unplug all other drives during repairs or reinstall.

GARoss,

1. Don't go by DM. It mixes up the ports.

2. Your storage interface snip only says that you have 2x6Gb ports. But it does not say which ports they are.

Greg, this is understood. But this OP has a SSD for the OS and that has to go on the fastest port - which may not be port 0. Up to now I have not seen any evidence that port 0 is a 6Gb port.

Wolfgang he says the Manual specifies 0 is 6 gb.

Have you tried SSD in Port 0 on the mobo?

Maybe - from his post #20, I conclude that he has 2x6GB ports. But it says nothing to where on the mobo these ports are.

C300-CTFDDAC128MAG ATA Device is the 128Gb SSD C: which at boot is reported as Port-00: as seen in my photo.

If the 2tb Hitachi is the one shown in DISK0 slot in your Disk Mgmt screenshot, then you should be able to swap cables between ports 0 and 1 to see if SSD becomes Disk0

Thanks Greg.

Different day, different Disk Management. I haven't touched a thing & now C: show up as Disk 0. I'll open my case tomorrow to verify as we have visitors now & report back.
