Welcome
I would just make an administrative account and uninstall.
You can also use the built in adminstrator.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/507-built-administrator-account-enable-disable.html?filter[2]=User Accounts
To make sure that this does not happen again, make sure that UAC is turned on.
http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/299-user-account-control-uac-change-notification-settings.html
You might, also, want to download and use Win Patrol. It will notify you of any changes that are being made.
http://www.winpatrol.com/
The software is so good, that I have the paid version, but the free will suit you just fine.

Thanks for your valuable guidance.Despite creating an Administrative account and logining as an Administrator, I am umable to unstall the Norton Internet Security. It still shows that I need adminisrators powers to uninstall. Please guide me.

I will assume that from an adminstrators account you used the unistaller suggested by JMH (good call Jan). When you are ready for the uninstaller, right click on it and then run as administrator.
If that does not work, try in safe mode.

Sometimes Norton complains if you uninstall in the "wrong" order. Live update and AV are tightly linked.

JHM's post points you to Norton's own Norton cleanup.

padasalgi,

I'm curious.
You say you are running Kaspersky by choice & having trouble uninstalling Norton...

Did your computer come pre installed with another Anti Virus program?
If so what & how did you uninstall it?

What other Security software are you running?

Go directly to 100% disable Kaspersky ( you will re-enable later), best would be to 100% uninstall Kaspersky.

Now use the link given to you by JMH to fetch and run the Norton Removal Tool.

After removing Norton, then uninstall the adobe product.

With those two out of the way, reinstall kaspersky.

What version of Kaspersky and which Kaspersky product are you using?

A rogue anti virus?

That's what I was thinking when I stumbled across this thread last night. Although I had never heard of one that actually used the Norton name. But you never know what lengths they'll resort to.

IMHO by far the quickest & neatest way to have your computer up & running would be to do a clean install.

A clean installation consists of removing all data from the hard disk by reformatting & reinstalling the operating system and programs to an empty (clean) hard disk.

This can be less "messy" than disinfecting a computer to try to remove malware / correct problems etc.

padasalgi,

Noticing your country plus the Adobe peculiarity (whith to be honest, I just assumed you had a poor memory), then my recommendation is:

Run WDO. The link for WDO is in my signature. After, and only after, a full scan by WDO, will I be ready to continue.

Sometimes software gets installed with our knowledge, we just don't pay close enough attention. I know Adobe tries to sneak these in with their software (could be Norton, McAfee, Google, Yahoo....). There's a dialog displayed or a checkbox marked and we, being human think "Hey that must be ok, I'm on a reputable site.... go ahead install whatever you think is best"

These are usually toolbar add-ons. Perhaps if you manage the add-ons in your browser(s) you might find what you're looking for. It's worth a shot, eh wot?

The links provided for the Norton Removal Tool (NRT) work for me, I'm just not sure the NRT handles the toolbar - it should, but I dunno.

Nobody ever reads these things, let alone the screen in front of them. I admit, I've been guilty as charged too.
