Hello! Some time ago I installed VisualBasic 6.0 to work on a school project and after finishing It I decided to uninstall VB6.0, but I still have ODBC 32bit in Control Panel and it's not on the "Add/Remove" program list. I also uninstalled the ODBC data registry keys but to no avail. Any tips? Thanks in advance!

You just want to remove it from Control Panel, correct? Navigate to C:\windows\System32, In search box type

*.cpl

Enter

It will likely be listed as Odbccp32.cpl

You can rename it to make sure it is the correct one. Delete it if it is. Suggest you make a System Restore point just in case.

You might also try the free Revo Uninstaller and see if it finds any traces of the actual installed program.

Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems

Hello, thank you very much for your answer!

There's no odbccp32.cpl in System32. I also have Revo Uninstaller and uninstalled VB6.0 using it but ODBC is still there for some reason.

If it is on the Control Panel, there must be a .cpl file for it. I'm just not sure the name I gave will be it, as Office also installs that. It may also reside in c:\windows\syswow64\odbccp32.cpl on a x64 system. A Guy

ODBC is part of Windows. It should show up in Administrative Tools. As A Guy says, it's used by Office and any other applications that use SQL.

Hello. Thank you for your answers. I've found the file in syswow64 and renamed it but it still shows up in Control Panel.
