I have an "account" showing up with "Full Control" permissions on several of my desktop shortcuts. It's named "Unknown Account(S1-nn-nn-nnnnnnnn-nnnnnnnn-nnn-nnn) where all the "nnn" are just gibberish numbers with an occasional hyphen.

I am running Windows 7 SP1 x64 fully up to date, but that "S1-<bunch of gibberish numbers>" account format is reminding me of my old XP accounts, which I seem to recall had that same name format. Although none of my current hardware has ever run under Windows XP as I upgraded various pieces, some of my old software has (for example, the wonderful Microsoft "SyncToy" utility that isn't even available any more but it's so incredibly useful that I can't give it up.)

When I look at my User Accounts, I do not see this account- just my account, "Administrators" and an icon for me to use to create a "Guest" account, which I have never done for security reasons.

How can I track this "S1-nnnnnnn" account down, find out who/what it is and (presumably) blow it up when it's not even showing in Control Panel >> User Accounts?
