Solved Unsafe Shutdown Count (S.M.A.R.T. status)

Hey all.. just a quick question! Is "Unsafe Shutdown Count" featured in Western Digital Hard Drives or other brands as well?

Today my Windows was hanged on a black screen when I was shutting down my computer so I had to manually turn off the PC by holding down the power button on the case. When I turned on my PC and checked the SMART status on both drives the WD showing "1" on Unsafe Shutdown Count while the other Seagate showing nothing about Unsafe Shutdown Count which also is the primary HDD for OS!

Hi there boogieboy!

The Unsafe Shutdown Count, or Power-off Retract Count, is a S.M.A.R.T. Attribute; it means the count of times the heads of the certain storage device are loaded off the media.
Since this is a S.M.A.R.T. Attribute, it can be associated with any HDD or SSD, it just may be possible that under some brands, the name would be different.
This doesn't seem to be a problem, do you experience any troubling occurrences that would make you think your drives are failing?
