Hi all, i would just like to know one thing.

One of my friend has a NVIDIA GeForce 7050 / NVIDIA nForce 610i motherboard and he wants to install new high end graphics cards on this motherboard for having better gaming experience.. Now as far as i know the above mentioned motherboard also has some inbuilt graphics capability.. it acts as both motherboard and graphics card as well, serves the purpose of both to some extent.. Now i would like to know can we install new graphics card on this motherboard or we have to buy a new motherboard in order to install a new high end gpu???

Thanks in Advance

Well installing a "high end" GPU in his current rig will cause other bottlenecks that arent the GPU.

I think he would be best settling for a mid ranged card, something more in line with his processing and ram capabilities in gaming terms.

You can add an aftermarket GPU just fine, all current onboard graphics should automatically disable, and or can be turned off within the bios.

Spend the extra $200USD on a new mobo and processor on top of that high-end GPU... not only will you get better performance outside of gaming, but now seeing that games are moving back into the CPU-intensive phase, you'll see huge changes in playing your games. Or if your current mobo still supports current day CPU socket-types, don't bother with a new mobo and just spend more on a better processor :D By the way, what does high-end quantify as for you? Which card have you upgraded to?

a Core Duo is ok but i would look for a Core Quad Cpu and get at least 8GB of Ram

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2 4GHz 8M 1066 LGA 775 Socket CPU Slacr 735858200783 | eBay

you get a better CPU and some more Ram you can use the New Gpu and you will be alright it will not be as bad of a Bottle Neck vs the Core Duo

erm the gforce 210 is a 6 year old card.. thats not even low end in todays market.

something along the lines of a gt 650 or 750 are mid level cards upwards to 660 and 760.

the 210 wasnt even high level back in 2008, it was the entry level card, barely capable of playing games in its time, now it wont have a chance of playing anything modern even with everything on low and 800x600 resolution.

you could also look at 6750 cards from amd, used now are probably very reasonably priced.
