Upgrade or clean install from x86 to x64??

Sorry if this has been addressed but a search did not bring up anything that I saw.

Anyway, I am running build 7022 x86 and was planning on upgrading my maching and going with x64. First, is this possible as a simple upgrade? If so, are there any concerns or issues I should know about when attempting this? A clean install is not out of the question but obviously when testing these new builds, its nice to be able to just upgrade. Thanks for any input.

You cant upgrade from x86 to x64.

A fresh install is your only option.

Sorry, but to go from a 32-bit system to a 64-bit system (or vice-versa) means a clean install. It is not possible to upgrade one to the other.

I'm guessing a lot of people will be making the switch to 64 just because it was the first rc to be leaked. I'm one of them. I'm not sure if I'll be sticking with it or not.

actually 7048 is not rc but the rc branch is getting close be compiled and tested if you look at MS roadmap....

Yes, while it is not the sole reason for my decision to go to x64, it does help . Mostly it was time for a full upgrade of a couple boxes and cheap memory left me with 8gb to play with. So, might as well put something on that will use it.
