All of those settings are right although IPv6 and Packet Scheduler were unticked which I've sorted out now but still made no difference. Not sure if need to click install to sort these outs again?

You will definately want to put check marks there again. Disabling IPv6 isn't a good idea contrary to popular belief.

As it stands you aren't getting the correct info from your router.

It is probably the driver or the netgear software which you should try uninstalling.

IPv6 you dont need installed on the PC as it doesnt have any support yet in the networking world apart from those that Write it, it is a sped up version of IPv4.

The Packet scheduler will not aid you at the moment in connecting to a network as your still having hardware issues.

I have just had a thought can you see what channel your wireless USb is scanning on? it should be set to 1,6 or 11. if it is not try changing the setting to one of those or automatic.

This Xirrus wifi scanner is useful for finding out what channel the neighbors are using or to figure out which channel your router is broadcasting on. No need to guess at it.

Of course this won't help the Op until he can pick up the router.

Do you have An Anti-virus in place on the PC?

The AV firewall may be blocking in and output...

If you have try disabling or removing it first.
