Urgent help needed to reset windows 7 password

i would like to get help in unlocking windows 7 password, it is my best friend's computer , the password is forgotten, i have searched all the time on the net but all the software i tried did not work,,, i do not really want to re-insall W7 again , many programs and software to keep,,, it would be appreciated if i get help in this
