USB 3.0 drivers

Hi,

Intel has released two different USB 3 drivers for different chipsets. Will it be okay if I install or slipstream both into my Win 7 image ?

You can add drivers to the installation disk using SIW2 tool Update your Win 7 installation media.
If you have USB 2.0 port and mouse and keyboard works when you boot from the installation disk, your hardware doesn't need them to get windows installed. If there are USB 3.x on the MB you can install them after the Win 7 install.

Yes you can. On SIW2 tutorial you will find all USB3 drivers

If there are USB 3.x on the MB you can install them after the Win 7 install.

I found this to be very hard to do with my motherboard that has both USB 3.0 and USB 2.0 ports. Once the OS was installed I needed to install the chipset driver. Well, I couldn't since the keyboard and mouse was USB and no USB port worked. Even the USB 2.0 ports for what ever reason. So I had to use my PS/2 mouse to navigate to a CD that had the chipset driver, double click it and install. Once that was done and rebooted I was then able to use my USB keyboard and mouse, albeit they are wireless with a USB dongle.
