I recently installed a Silverstone USB 3.0 PCI-E card. My WD Mypassport external HD did not seem to be running as fast as I thought it should when plugged in to the new USB 3.0 port. I noticed, in msconfig, a USB 3.0 Monitor (rusb3mon) running at start up and unchecked it. My Passport then speeded up to about 3 times its speed when plugged into a USB 2 port. That is about what I expected.
My question is What in the world is the purpose of USB 3.0 Monitor?
Thank you.
