USB Mouse and keyboard freeze simultaneously

The jist of the problem is as follows: Every now and then, my keyboard and mouse (USB) will both stop responding (my cursor just hangs there and I cannot control anything with the keyboard). The only remedy seems to be a hard reboot, holding the power button down. It can happen anywhere from once a week to ten times a day (I'm keeping a tally here, and it's at 19 as I'm typing this, with 33 total last week). Sometimes I'll hear the USB connection sound as it happens, sometimes I won't. I'd really appreciate help on the matter. It's been going on for perhaps a month now.

Information:
-In event viewer, it seems as though events 702, 7023 and 7001 appear just prior to the "crash."
-System specs can be seen in attached .txt file.

Some of the things I've tried, amongst many others:
-Waiting a few hours for responsiveness to return (it doesn't)
-Updating drivers and BIOS
-Running a clean restart
-Plugging keyboard and mouse into different ports
-Allocating more power to both
-Again, several other "solutions"

If you have anything, anything at all to suggest, feel free. Thanks for reading. :)

Mimiricus,

Where you ever able to solve this problem? I seem to be having the same issue, but haven't been able to get any help on my forum post either.

I've done everything you listed on yours also. Curious, what motherboard are you using?

Cheers,
P
