My usb ports are not recognising any devices. I have to delete my usb drivers completely and reinstall them and then the usb device only works 1 time. any help?
I have the same problem. Whatever I plug into the usb ports does not work. I have uninstall-ed the drivers, unplugged the computer and removed the battery. Then I plugged computer back in and started it. The drivers were reinstalled but devices still do not work. Device manager says they are working. The mouse I am trying to use will flash on for a brief moment then quit on start up. It works fine on another computer.
You didn't provide any specs, but if your system is self-built, make sure that if you're using a front panel USB connection, that the connections are good.

I don't know any specs it is a Toshiba satellite c655. Running windows 7 home premium 64bit. I have been all over the internet. I see a lot of people with the same problem but no solutions that work. Everyone says the same thing uninstall and reinstall the drivers. That has been done. They are the updated drivers. I don't know much about computers but I do know how to check the device manager.
One last thought is to have one of your friends come by with a USB stick and see if he/she has the same problem.
Make sure you have checked all the cables.....IMHO
It was something in the power setting. I believe selective usb shutoff was enabled and they changed it to disabled. I have no idea how it changed itself. They checked for a virus and didn't find one.
