User login fail

I need help! My laptop will not let me log on. I am very computer illiterate so if anyone has any advice I would appreciate it. I have looked this up in forums and don't really understand what to do. Thanks.

Exactly what happens and when does it happen (at what point in the boot up cycle)?

See if you can boot to Safe Mode: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/69585-safe-mode.html

If that works, try doing a System Restore to a date/time before this happened.

Click Start, All Programs, Accessories, System Tools then System Restore.

See if that gets you working again.
