I bought a new computer and gave my old one to my wife, both are Win 7 Home Premium. When hers first started it came up with my User name and picture so I changed my name to hers and my picture to hers. Unfortunately that was the only place it changed User names. When I look at the Home Group on my computer I have 2 computers with my name! Also iTunes has my name in the file for hers.
I have Senior Moments and get confused very easily. Is there a correct way to change the User name on her computer to eliminate my confusion?

Unifex,
Thanks for your response, I have yet to try it because of time constraint.
Because of the fact there are my old files on her computer with my user name still on them, I am wondering if I could not use user accounts and just use run computers as Administrator, in other words both computers would start up as Adinistrators with no log in required. Except for her Desktop icons are totally different from mine everything but personal files is the same as mine. I really would like to simplify things. I don't worry about her making changes that would cause problems, she is not an experimenter, she just goes where she has to to do email, iTunes and Facebook, she totally trusts me to do the rest as long as she can keep her own desktop, she is hard to live with if I move even one of her 50 icons! She never caused me any problems back in the good old days before user accounts! I have a Disc Image and do frequent backups on a external hard drive if she should ever do something serious. Neither computer is accessible to anyone else so logon passwords are not required.
So, am I dreaming or there is a simple way to eliminate user accounts and keep her happy?
I really do appreciate your help.

Hello nodsirrah, welcome to Windows Seven Forums.

I'm wondering if the easiest way out of your dilemma is to create a new user account for your wife, import her user profile from her old account that has your name, and then delete that account.

Fix a corrupted user profile

Using administrator accounts without logging in is not really a good idea on security grounds alone and could be catastrophic for you if your computer was stolen.

I decided to use Unifex's procedure to change the account name, everything worked great!
Thanks for the help.
