User Profile Service failed

I created a new User but when trying to logon the following message appears:

"The User Profile Service failed the logon.
User profile cannot be loaded"

I have tried both Administrator and Guest account types

What I also noted that no additions were made to the C:\Users directory. Of the three accounts that exists only one is listed under C:/Users

I went through the regedit route but still only one User is visible.

You might see if doing the item in the yellow TIP box at the top of the tutorial may be able to help then. I would recommend doing a system restore first.
