User Profile Service service failed the logon

Hi, I received the above message when logging in yesterday and wondered if anyone could help?

I've tried going into regedit and changing the RefCount to 0 and restarting but it keeps going back to 2 - it was at 3 originally but keeps reverting to 2 when I restart. Any ideas?

Any replies much appreciated.
