I have assigned a computer to 'nmoses' and then changed the user name to 'frontdesk' after nmoses quit. I just noticed in the cmd/dos window that nmoses still exists and frontdesk is nowhere to be found. Is there a way to change once and for all all nmoses to frondesk?

When you rename an account the profile is not renamed. The problem is that there are probably references to the original name in the registry. Locating and correcting all these references is difficult and prone to error. For that reason the use profile is left alone.

Hello Jimny,

In addition, the only true way to do this would be to create a new account and delete the old one when ready. :(

Hello Jimny,

I thought I did that, that is why I am puzzled.
I will try it again and create a new user and then see what MSDos window says.

Your reference to CMD windows is confusing. What is the window displaying and how is this different from what you expect?

Jimny,

From your first post, it had seemed that you only renamed an existing account instead of creating a new one. Is that correct?
