Solved Using a different charger for laptop?

Hello, my lenovo charger broke. It charges but the wire has to be in an angle and if I move it stops charging.
I have a second charger for laptop. The charging port fits in perfect.

Here is the specs of my charger
Output 20V - 3.25 A

Specs of other charger (Really old Toshiba ~ 2007)
Output 19V - 6.3 A

When considering non-original laptop chargers, the voltage needs to match exactly while the current needs to be equal to the original or higher. In your case the current rating for the other charger is fine but the voltage is not correct. It's possible that the laptop has a voltage regulator inside to compensate for the lower voltage but since I have no knowledge of the inner workings of your Lenovo, I can't say whether the 19V is close enough.

hi, if it was me I would just get one made for your laptop. you might want to check if they are using the same polarity.

Thanks, but how come it's okay for phones? For example, if my phone came with a 1 amp charger but you can use 2 amp charger for faster charging

It works the same. The new charger's Amperage rating needs to be equal to our HIGHER. So a 1A charger can be replaced by a 2A charger. However, if the phone required a 2A charger and you replaced it with a 1A, chances are the 1A charger would fail prematurely.
