Sorry I know this must have been answered a million times but -
The HDD in my laptop is clicking -it's near death. So I need to install a new HDD and put another copy of Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit on it (exactly what the system came with). The sticker on the laptop has the product key and MS said I could use that. So far so good.
Now I need a copy of Win7 Home Pro. I have Win 7 Pro disc that I used on my workstation. Can I use that disc - instead of downloading an ISO/burning to DVD - to install Win 7 Home Pro 64?
The reason I ask is because I'm sure I read many times that retail discs contain all the versions of Windows 7. Although I used the disc already to install Win7 Pro - can't I use it for Home Premium as well?
Thanks you guys - I appreciate any help you can give me. MS customer service was prompt and friendly but unfortunately the language barrier prevented us from understanding each other I think.
Thanks again!
