The issue:
I am a student living in student accomodation, in a hall with 4 others. However i have to connect my W7 PC through ethernet, which is fine, but then all our wireless devices can't connect as there is no WiFi. So i set up an Ad-Hoc network on my PC (i have a wireless USB). I was able to set up the network and find it on my wireless devices but unable to connect to it.

I know you are all going to tell me it's only temporary - i know, please could you help me figure this out, thank you!

Hey chev,
i found that link very useful, however, when my other wireless devices connect to it (successfully) they do not get any connection to the internet, any ideas why? I followed the instructions correctly.

Bump, anyone?

Extra info: PC connected through ethernet. Current provider is Ask4, i am on student internet and the DNS suffix's are all pointed to my building.
I still have the same problem of my devices connecting but having "limited or no connectivity" despite my PC showing that there is internet connection through the wireless network.

The problem is that a hosted wireless network can only work if you are connecting wirelessly, you then share out that wireless connection with other clients.

The problem is that you are first connecting with a wired Ethernet connection then trying to share that to a wireless connection, it doesn't work that way. :(
