using an IDE hd for backup image from a sata drive?

I have a couple of these older drives in good condition is it possible to install one and backup my OS/image file from my sata drive, and be able to restore in case of system crash? Or should I get another Sata drive or usb flash drive instead? Thanks! :)

IDE drives will work well as long as your motherboard has proper connections for them. They are probably noticeably slower than more recent SATA drives, but if that doesn't bother you, go ahead. They are certainly preferable to a USB flash drive.

All fans PWM; speeds at idle: CPU circa 500 rpm; intake circa 600 rpm; exhaust circa 600 rpm; CPU temps 27 idle and 47 C load in a warm room (27 C/81 F) when running Intel Extreme Tuning Utility stress test.
I may do that then till I get a chance to order a Sata drive from New Egg. Thanks! :)

I'm using an IDE internal drive for my SATA boot drive Macrium images.
From personal experience I can verify that this setup works just fine.
