Dear Friends,
I have HP DV4 Pavillion core i3 with Windows7 operating system.
I would like to know if we could use the inbuilt speakers and headphone simultaneously for example...headphone for voice chat and inbuilt speakers for music playing.
Please advice.
Regards,
Ashley

Well I know you can use both simultaneously, but I don't know how to have different things playing on each. To at least have both in use at the same time, and there will be a slight half second delay between the two, follow these instructions:

First make sure that your computer doesn't have anything in effect where if you plug in your headset, your speakers will mute. And also make your speakers the default sound device (I think this matters later on).

Go to "Control Panel" and under "Sound" go to "Manage Audio Devices" then click on the "Recording" tab. Then right click on an empty space and select "Show Disabled Devices". "Stereo Mix" should pop up, right click on it and select "Enable". Double click on it and go to the "Listen" tab.
(WARNING, YOU MAY GET HUGE FEEDBACK IF YOU SELECT WRONG DEVICE, TURN DOWN VOLUME OR COVER YOUR EARS)
Now I may be wrong here, but select your default sound device in the list, check the "Listen to this device" box above, and click "Apply". You should be hearing the same audio between both devices.

Maybe you can do something with this to hear song A in your headset and song B in your speakers? Or maybe some wise guru will walk in and tell me my idea is stupid and of no use, heh. So be it.
