I just installed Windows 7 on my wife's computer last weekend and had a hard time getting the updates to work. I searched and tried several things that didn't work, finally I left it on all night last night, got up and it looked like nothing had happened. I closed the updates box and a little later went back to the pc and there was a message saying there were 255 updates, I was ecstatic! I started them up, looked over and they were at 37%, so I went back to my pc. All of a sudden my web pages won't load, I look at my Uverse modem and it is rebooting for some reason, I went back to my wife's pc and it wasn't doing anything. I closed the updates box and tried to restart it, but nothing... I even left it on for a couple hours and nothing. I checked the Software Distribution folder and it showed there was over 5 gigabytes of updates in it, but I still can't get it to work.

You are not alone it appears that MS servers have been rejecting connections when people are trying to download updates for windows 7. I can watch my ATT DSL modem's internet light turn red as I have tried to download updates for 7. It doesn't happen with ANY other servers ONLY MS update servers.
