Ventrilo won't connect to server

I just upgraded to windows 7 today and now my ventrilo will open but it won't connect.
I've been to

and I couldn't connect using the telnet test. I don't know what to do from here.

Open up Control Panel->Programs->Add or Remove Windows Components->Check the boxes beside Telnet Client and Server->Hit Apply->Reboot

Windows 7 doesn't come with Telnet installed by default
