Very dim video & no external video

On my Hp Mini 110, my screen has gotton very dim, similar to a inverter going out in a full size laptop.
When I shine a flash light on it, it can barely be seen. When I connect it to an external monitor I get
nothing. Everything seems to be powering up ok ie. fan, wlan, etc. Do you have any ideas of what
it might be?

Yeah sounds like internal monitor gone bad, nothing on external, maybe a BIOS setting needs adjusted?

Unless battery power plan kicked in and you need to plug it into an outlet, but that doesn't explain an external not working at all. [see BIOS setting]

Otherwise video on-board is toast.

Three year old unit, cheap, very possible on monitor or video being toast.
