Vindicates you? Really? Strong language there, andsome.

I've been using FF for over 10 years. Never an issue. I dunno, to each there own, I guess.

We've a number of Opera fans here, as well. Haven't read about too many issues they've experienced either.

Most of the "help" in this forum is from those seeking aid for IE. Just sayin'.

If I was running my PC without Antivirus & a Firewall IE 9 might be a good choice.
I use Comodo Internet security its free & does a fantastic job.

I had problems when I tried Fire Fox, also with ThunderBUG, but IE runs flawlessly. I am only pointing to the article, I did not run any tests myself of course. I have no security issues on my computer, and have been a long time user of ESET Nod 32.

Horses for courses I say!...Some like IE, some rather have FF, some Chrome, take your pick. I see that they compared IE9 to FF3.6 and not FF4 which is a lot faster, but hey, who cares. They all have had problems in the past and will have in the future...thats called evolution...Mr Darwin can tell us all about that.
I just use whatever is available and I'm sure there are a lot of others do the same.

I thinks thats because we can agree to have different views without shouting the odds. Its a great place for getting and giving help especially to those that are using Windows seven for the first time.

IE 9 has some great tools to protect sensible users the problem is so many IE users will try to download dodgy material & turn of protected mode & leave it off. I know so many otherwise intelligent People who are clueless around computers.

Hi there
The problem with other browsers is that they don't support ACTIVE-X so if you need to use the WEB based version of RDP you are forced to use IE anyway.

But other than that Browser wars are a thing of the past -- rather like the pointless MAC vs PC or BMW vs MERCEDES type off arguments.

Just chose the one that suits your preferences best -- or have the whole lot if you want.

As far as security is concerned -- the USER is likely to be the cause rather than any weakness in the browser -- I used computers for YEARS without ever installing ANY security package and never had a problem.

I use MSE now which does the job just fine and usually only connect to the Net via a Virtual Machine. If the VM gets any problems then I just bin it and open up another one.

I only move stuff to a REAL machine after decent testing - even if I have to test on REAL HARDWARE I still do the download on the VM and scan it for viruses etc before copying to the target HOST machine.

Most software I want to test these days runs on Virtual Machines just fine - including things like PHOTOSHOP CS5 so 99% of the time the VM runs just OK.
