Very slow shutdown times

Occasionally shutting down my computer may take thirty seconds longer than normal(which is 10 seconds). All the peripherals shut down, but the computer keeps "shutting down" for 30 more seconds. Normally peripherals shut down just a second or two before the computer itself shuts down, but here the shutdown is just really delayed. Help please!

When do you shutdown your computer? After a long time? This also happens to me if I use my computer for a long time like 6 hours it would take for a minute to shutdown. Maybe because it's releasing memory. What's the memory usage of your computer before you shut down ?

I appreciate you trying to help, but what you just said doesn't make sense to me. There is something extraordinary about this, because normally it takes ten seconds to shut down but at random times it takes about 40 seconds. I use my computer several times a day, and I have 8 gigs of 1333 MHz ram. I have only a gig or two in use when I shut down my computer.

I noticed that when replaced my old HD4870 with a 7580, fixed by installing a driver called amdkmpfd included on latest catalysts everything went back to normal.

Normally when that happens with that little bit of time difference its a driver or a programs running in the background that has a short delay for what ever reason. Finding it could take for ever.

Fair enough, so you're suggesting I should just leave it be?

Are you saying you had significantly slower shutdown times as well until you installed the latest graphics card driver?

Strange, because my drivers are up to date and I have the problem. Thanks for sharing your experience with me. I'll keep bumping this thread for help.

Yes i am also having this problem but sometimes it shuts down properly. I don't know what is cause for that two types of shutdown (taking different time). And if don't mind please clarify another doubt my colleague's system is getting off frequently. There is no problem in electrical outlet or anything physically. Please suggest me to help my colleague. I'll be grateful:)
