Recently my computer has been running very slow. It begins when I'm waiting for the desktop icons to appear to opening any file or application. It's also slow just opening the internet. Please advise.

Do you use many extensions in your browser? I know some that have 6-8 extensions, some of which take some time to load. Also I'e found that I had a few programs that would auto-update when I turned on my computer, which of course delayed my speed of opening folder and how long I had to wait to get things moving smoothly. I only have a few programs that do such now, but everyone has different programs and preferences.

Start up programs can delay the time it takes for the icons to pop up as it takes resources to operate them along with smooth functioning. Check this out for some info http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/1401-startup-programs-change.html

As for other sluggish effects; too many processes being opened will bog your machine down drastically. At rest I have 45 or so processes running, I cleaned up my mothers computer a while back, she had 130 running:eek: She was amazed to see the speed in crease from the reduction of unneeded processes.

Also depending on your situation, you can always check out the ever helpful http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11728-optimize-windows-7-a.html?filter[2]=Performance%20Maintenance

Hope this helps:D

- you can do couple of things to make your computer faster. First you should clean your registry that is necessary part . Always use only one antivirus at the same time.Remove temporary Internet files from your system. uninstall these programs which are not necessary.
- Click Start, click "Control Panel" and then go to "Internet Options".On the General tab, click "Delete Files" under Temporary Internet Files. In the Delete Files dialog box, select the "Delete all offline content" check box and then click OK. And then click on OK
- Open your Start menu.Click Run. In the command screen type "msconfig.exe" . In the "system configuration utility",click on "service" tab. Uncheck all programs that your are not using.Click on "OK"

Hopefully your system will give better performance.....

OH THE FUN OF TWEAKING....

Other culprits:

Norton products running in the background or anything else that is sucking up process time that is not needed.

Too many unused services running that you don't need, although I would not monkey with those, if you are not knowledgeable.

There are a lot of programs out there to try and tweak for you, just be sure to use any backup settings feature FIRST within them, before going further or a registry backup program.

It appears your updated Nvidia drivers are not compatible with your hardware.

nvlddmkm.sys Thu Jan 31 01:45:04 2013

Unable to load image \SystemRoot\system32\DRIVERS\nvlddmkm.sys, Win32 error 0n2
*** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for nvlddmkm.sys
*** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for nvlddmkm.sys
Probably caused by : hardware ( nvlddmkm+1018ca )

You're also getting program faults in Microsoft Security Essentials. This could be caused by the errant Nvidia driver.
Run SFC /scannow from an elevated command prompt. If you get any errors, run it two more times and report back on any console messages. If all is well with that, try a Nvidia driver roll back to the previous version .

Forgot to mention: I'm not sure why that driver is showing up in the sys32 folder. The dump and the driver are x64 but this isn't matching some data in your MSInfo. Did you run the complete BSOD utility for this dump? Have you added more memory other than the 4Gb shown in the data?
