VERY stuck on the black screen with blinking cursor

Hi Guys,

I picked up this exact HP notebook:

I've had it for 4 days.

All was fine until I started downloading some partition programs (for my EXHD) that didn't seem to like Windows 7. Sooner after closing some windows, the computer went to the dreaded "Blue screen" for about 2 seconds then to the "black screen with the blinking cursor" and its been stuck ever sing. Can't type while in the black screen(it beeps), I went ahead and searched for solutions to this everything but nothing works.

I tried: CTRL-ATL-DEL = just bring me back to the same screen. I did the "removal battery/plug, hold down the power button, etc" = nothing. F8 and/or anything F button doesn't work, just beeps..

I can, however, access the "startup menu" by pressing ESC but thats about it.

It didn't come with a install DVD of windows 7 so am kinda stuck bigtime. Hopefully you guys can help.

Try a startup repair from the Windows DVD. If you don't have one, you can create one.
