vga for window 7 help

previously i was using Xp recently i installed Window 7 i am using laptop compaq nc6220 all my drivers are working but vga does not work on Xp when i installed its show vedio memory 128 mb bot now its show standard vga.help me

this is my old thread somebody in here helped my gave me a link to download but i change my hard so now everything is gone i need again the driver but cant fond help me please

please post your pc specs...
We need to know at least the model of your graphics card which you have to help you.

It seems that your Intel Integrated Graphics Card is not supported anymore by Intel, and Windows 7 drivers doesn't exist.
You should try to install Windows XP drivers.

i try to download but doesnot change any thing and i cant put my system on sleep as sleep button is greyed

i need to know the exact model of your graphics card, or the exact model of your laptop...
Download Intel drivers from Intel website.

The only driver available for that old Intel 915 graphics is the last XP driver. You won't get Aero as it is missing the necessary hardware, but it should at least be detect properly.

can you give me link to download i know aero doesnt work but atleast it detects

Yeah -- Google your compaq PC with model number and the word "driver" -- and it will give you a page for that PC with driver downloads. Under Driver - Graphics, select the Intel 915GM Graphics Driver and download the file. This will be an .exe file -- self-expanding archive. Save that file.

Run the saved file and it will expand. There should be a setup.exe file in there. If so, run that as Administrator -- but choose Windows XP compatibility mode -- as this is an XP driver, not Win7.
