Is the system powering up? Does it make the usual sounds?

Have you tried a different monitor?

It could be the RAM.

Check the signal and power cables to the Monitor.

If the monitor light is coming then the power is OK. Remove the cables and insert them firmly. Tighten the two screws holding the VGA plugs.

Is there any way you can attach the monitor to another system to rule out that it`s not bad. They do seem to go whenever they want.
How old is it ?

Could just be the card (or even something else) has become unseated from the board. Open up the case and make sure it's nothing simple like that.

Also, to clarify, is it that the monitor is showing a signal but there is simply no picture, or is that the monitor isn't even registering a signal coming to it? Dell monitors have the convenient light that turns from orange to green when it senses a signal, but I'm not sure if yours has something like that.

To check whether the monitor is working or not, the OP can try the menu button on the monitor.

The menu will appear on a working monitor whether it is getting signal from the system or not.

My latest feeling is the mobo has died. Now I am getting a yellow flashing light from the mobo. Going to change the board and see what happens.
