So I am having an issue with the HDMI passthrough on my Asus HDAV 1.3. Sometimes it works fine, and then on a reboot it will decide to stop working. More rebooting/trying to detect monitors/changing resos or powercycling the reciever or TV it outputs to will allow & to detect it as a monitor.
Have updated drivers, both video and audio.
Have checked the settings (those I could find) in the HDAV software suite.

Should probably mention that audio does not work either. Leading me to suspect something with the sound card, likely driver related. Would like any suggestions, Thanks.

Hi

found this (possible) solution on Asus Forums :

I had a similar issue when I received a card back from repair to get the 24p 1.39 firmware installed. Initial bootup there was no display and or sound through my AVR, but I would get a display when connecting my screen directly to the video card bypassing the HDAV.

I did notice that the info section of the HDAV control panel had the 'Splendid' tab, but no firware version. I reinstalled the Xonar driver including the Splendid + OSD application - Shutdown the PC and connected the video to the HDAV and then to the AVR.
Powered up everything and all worked fine after that.

Try this and hopefully you should be up and running :-)

Also have a look at this Arcsoft thread

Hope this helps and regards :)

Got it fixed. Actually looked at both of those threads. While they did not directly provide the solution, they helped. I just needed to completely remove the old driver and disable the device. Then fully shut down the computer, reboot it and install the newest driver. Working great once again. Love this card.
