Solved Viewing RAW in W7 64

Update:

I've been using the Fast Picture Viewer Codec pack for several months now and am very satisfied. It provides seamless support for all the formats I need. Thanks again to those who commented.

I still can't find a freeware answer to this one....help?

I have Picasa and Photoshop Elements, but it means opening up another program when you only want a quick look at thumbnails.

In Picasa, you see the pic, then have to ask it to " Locate on Disk" which takes you back to Windows Explorer thumbnails.

 to Canon for no X64 win7 codec!

Hi ozwrangler and welcome to the Forum. If you have Adobe Photoshop Elements on board you have all you need. Open the Organizer in Elements and you can choose to view in thumbnail view and there is a slider that allows infinite sizing of the thumbnails. Just double click a thumbnail and it puts that image in the full editor for you. Best program I have ever used for photo editing.
PS Not sure what this means:" to Canon for no X64 win7 codec!"

FastStone is actually a good-looking viewer.

Downloaded it as there seems to be nothing that works withIN Windows Explorer.
Thx.

Did you not try the program you already have installed namely Organizer in Elements?

I guess you're looking for free software only, but as someone who has thousands upon thousands of images, I can tell you that the Fast Picture Viewer Codec is worth paying $10 for, and it does work within Win 7 64 bit Windows Explorer and has not failed on any format I've thrown at it. It also works in Windows Photo Viewer and Windows Photo Gallery. FPVC makes all formats I use seamlessly native to 64 bit windows. Just wanted to emphasize the utility of this codec pack, as, judging from your posts, it's exactly what you're looking for.
