I've developed an application because I wanted the same thing. My program is extremely lightweight and requires no configuring.

You install, or you can use the zip and just run it. Then use alt+ the number of the desktop to switch to it. Then alt+ctrl+number to send the active window to a desktop.

My program is open source and free.

The current desktop is shown in the tray on the icon, and the icon can optionally be hidden.

Question

Is it possible to have to desktops running simultaneously, one on each display? With two keyboards and mice, so essentially two people on the same computer?

Cheers!

Thanks...it seems to work well. I have a use for this, so I have downloaded and like it.

Great application Jason!
Would it be possible to add a function to cycle through the desktops? E.g. ctrl+alt+left/right button to cycle through the desktops.
And perhaps adjustable keyboard shortcuts since the ctrl+alt+1-4 to move windows between desktops make me unable to type symbols requiring Alt Gr (e.g. @).

It would be much appreciated!

Ah yes, those are both very good suggestions, I'll be adding those into the next version.

Thanks!

Any chance of allowing the desktop switching and moving hotkeys to use a number from the keypad?

I am a Dexpot user, but find it a little unstable now and again on my 64bit Win7 system. Can't track it down to anything in particular, and it is rare.

I like the app. It is easy to use. But it would be nice if there was a way to take an app and push it to all the screens, or have it persist no matter which you were looking at.

yeah all these programs are alright, Jason's probably the best but i think something needs to be added. I am looking for a program much like these where i can have a desktop for home, desktop for school and desktop for work. Which i will change when i am at each place, obviously. But when changing desktop the, for example, desktop background is the same on all 4 parts. I'd like to be able to have 4 totally different looking desktops... maybe you could add this or suggest a program where this does happen ??
Cheers dc1sbab3 ;)
