Win 7 HP has developed an extremely vexatious problem!!!

When logging on or typing in Search or typing in Chrome even typing in Word or email.
the number 8 keeps repeating itself continually eg; 888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888888 etc etc. Even if this key is not being touched at all!

Have tried Kaspersky TDSKiller but it finds no problems, both in normal and safe modes.

Have re-installed the OEM Win7 HP OS, but the issue still annoyingly prevails.

The 8 key is not 'sticky' either on the * button or the numeric keypad.

Has anyone suffered anything so puzzling as this?

Hi, welcome to Seven Forums.

Try another keyboard, is the first thing to do & post back if that doesn't work.

Thank you Ranger4 and archer,

It may take a couple of days before we can fit a replacement keyboard, but so far, keeping the
'Num Lock' de-activated seems to have subdued the problem for now.

Will post back just as soon as the keyboard has been replaced, until then,
many thanks once again.
